Introduzione
In questa pagina vengono elencati i goal che il Gruppo traduzione si prefigge di raggiungere di rilascio in rilascio. Questi goal non sono vincolanti né tanto meno mandatori.
Descrizioni dei pacchetti
Per il prossimo rilascio LTS (Long Term Support) previsto per il mese di aprile 2012, l'intenzione è quella di tradurre, e adattare agli standard del Gruppo traduzione, quante più descrizioni dei pacchetti installabili nel sistema possibili (reperibili sotto il progetto DDTP) e tutte le traduzioni presenti sotto il progetto app-install-data. Queste descrizioni, brevi e lunghe, sono utilizzate da Software Center, Gestore pacchetti e da Gestore aggiornamenti.

Come tradurre

Per le regole di traduzione da adottare per tradurre le descrizioni dei pacchetti, fare riferimento alla pagina [:GruppoTraduzione/Traduzioni#descrizioni:delle traduzioni].
Le descrizioni dei pacchetti (ad eccezione di quelle contenute nel componente restricted) sono state suddivise in gruppi composti da 100 stringhe. Una volta richiesto l'affidamento di un gruppo di stringhe e ricevuta conferma in mailing list, è possibile procedere con la traduzione.

Le traduzioni del progetto DDTP sono suddivise in base ai componenti dei repository di Ubuntu. La priorità per queste traduzioni è la seguente:
- Componente [:ClaudioArseni/Prove4:restricted];
- Componente [:ClaudioArseni/Prove5:main];
- Componente [:ClaudioArseni/Prove6:universe];
- Componente [:ClaudioArseni/Prove7:multiverse].
Strumenti
Purtroppo non c'è un accesso diretto alle stringhe dei pacchetti da tradurre.
Esistono però alcuni metodi che possono aiutare nelle traduzioni delle descrizioni dei pacchetti.
Per localizzare una specifica stringa, è possibile:
Utilizzare [http://nightmonkey.ubuntu.hu/ Nightmonkey], un semplice strumento che mostra i collegamenti alle pagine della descrizione dei pacchetti contenuti in Ubuntu Software Center.
In alternativa, per le descrizioni non presenti in [http://nightmonkey.ubuntu.hu/ Nightmonkey]:
Lanciare Gestore pacchetti e cercare il nome del pacchetto che si vuole verificare.
- Controllare le stringhe della descrizione.
- Usare la funzione di ricerca di Launchpad per trovare quelle stringhe all'interno del relativo gruppo di stringhe (controllare [#rif Riferimenti]): possono essere sufficienti le prime parole che compongono la descrizione.
- Tradurre la stringa se non è tradotta.
Nel caso le stringhe fossero già tradotte, controllare che rispecchino [:../Traduzioni#descrizioni:le nostre regole di traduzione dei pacchetti] e che siano conformi agli standard di traduzione di Ubuntu.
